Selecting Your Services
Consulting with a Certified PaperhangerĀ® at the onset of a design project will enable you to better understand the service options and how they can affect the final result. This empowers you to choose your desired services knowledgeably and leads to a design solution that best fits your needs and conforms to your budget.
When the job is completed
At project end, no matter which services have been employed, every worksite is left in a neat and clean condition that meets with your satisfaction.
We can quote virtually any wallcovering material, including Phillip Jeffries Ltd., F. Schumacher, Seabrook, Maya Romanoff, Weathered Stone and Clipso. Wallcovering material must be from the same dye lot (run number.) This virtually eliminates the risks of shading, texture and/or pattern mismatching between the dye lots.
The old material may be:
1) Strippable–old material can be completely removed from the surface by dry pulling
2) Non-strippable–old material can be removed only by soaking or steaming. In some cases, new material may be installed over non-strippable material that has been properly prepared
3) Peelable–the top layer of the material can be removed by dry pulling, allowing the paper backing to remain on the surface as blank stock for new material
The surface preparation may include:
1) Mold remediation–by a licensed professional
2) Drywall repair–by a licensed professional
3) Spot patching–small holes with spackling compound
4) Skim coating–with joint compound, then sanding
5) Priming–with a pigmented, universal acrylic latex primer
6) Sealing–with a clear, copolymer resin, acrylic sealer
7) Wall liner–(non-woven) installed over rough surfaces
8) Blank stock–(pulp paper) installed over smooth surfaces
Safety is the number one concern at every job site. We follow OSHA guidelines when using ladders, planks and scaffolds, applying sealers and primers, using laser levels and razor-edged cutting tools. Children, pets and other laborers are restricted from entering work areas. Reasonable care is exercised to avoid any and all foreseeable dangers.
Quality of work is the number two concern at every job site. All work is performed to meet or exceed industry national standards and is warrantied for one year. We use only high quality, professional grade primers, sealers and adhesives in our work. Upon customer request, we will use allergy-friendly products at an additional charge. In addition, manufacturer recommendations are closely followed when installing their materials.
Sometimes it is possible to repair damaged material. There are several methods of repair:
1) Repasting loose seams, loose edges or torn material
2) Patching new material over old material
3) Replacing old material with new material
4) Splicing new material into old material

Absolutely! Please keep in mind that there are many factors that can affect an estimate:
- job location
- room dimensions and layout
- type of wallcovering
- material width
- pattern repeat
- pattern match
- bolt length
- the condition of the surfaces where the material is to be installed.
Ordinarily, these factors can be determined only through an on-site survey or from accurate drawings and wallpaper specifications.
I estimate by the job, due to the many factors listed above.
You will receive a proposal listing the amount of material required, the labor charge and the estimated job duration. Review the proposal carefully and then submit any questions you might have. If the proposal is acceptable, sign, initial and date it in the designated areas and return it. If a down payment is required, it will be specified in the proposal. Payments are tendered by cash, check or money order with final payment due upon job completion. All work is performed by qualified craftsmen.
After all of the required material has been delivered to the job site, and after any prerequisite remodeling has been completed, your installation can be scheduled to begin as quickly as possible. All work is normally scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Allow the new wallcovering to dry and strengthen before hanging pictures or affixing other types of decor. Depending upon environmental factors and the type of material, this may take from hours to days to weeks. In shower or bath areas, always use the exhaust fan to remove steam and moisture which could otherwise cause the material to loosen from the surface, especially near the ceiling. For cleaning, you should follow manufacturer instructions included with the material. In general, naturals may be vacuumed, papers may be sponged lightly with clean water and vinyl may be washed with mild soap and rinsed with clean water.
